The Competency-Based Education (CBE)/Curriculum (CBC)

The Competency-Based Education (CBE)—widely referred to as the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC)—Kenya is a 2-6-3-3-3 educational framework introduced by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) in 2017 to replace the long-standing 8-4-4 system, focuses on practical skill-building, core competencies, and continuous formative assessment rather than rigid, one-time national.
